Zoe-perry
Perry is a Chicago native she was born into Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. She made her first appearances on television as Jackie Harris, a character which was played by her mother in her role on the ABC show Roseanne. She was not allowed to perform by her parents until adulthood, as they feared the strain it might result in. Perry acknowledged that she was not comfortable acting in high school. However, she began doing it to make friends during her time at Northwestern University after switching from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University moved into New York in search of television roles. She landed small parts in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness led her to California to find theater work. She performed on Broadway with her mother in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. She appeared in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie as well as Kevin McKidd. This was staged at West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry appeared nine times in the ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. In 2017, Perry was a part-time character in the ABC political drama Scandal which starred her father. In the same year, her character was cast a young model of Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) on Young Sheldon, a spin-off of the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory again portraying a younger model of the mother's character. She was cast in the role despite having a close familial connection to the character.
